All Levels Reading and Writing

Reading success depends on a student’s ability to decode, or “sound out” words based on their spellings. In phonics instruction, students learn the most common sound-spelling relationships so they can “break down and sound out” words of various lengths.

Instructors will use various tools to help students strengthen their ability to process stories, understand the meaning, and combine it with their background knowledge.

Writing sentences requires a grasp of sentence structure and word structure, including vocabulary, capitalization, and punctuation. Instructors will help students master elements to grammar so their writing comes across clearly.
